Ensuring safety, security and operational efficiency on US rail networks

Why the Evolution to SAFERAIL ?

For the past 5 years, the PTC World Congress has showcased rail safety and operational leaders from across the nation to develop and implement THE critical safety system of the future. The difficulty operators have faced in meeting the 2015 mandate and the recent derailments on US networks exemplify that PTC remains a key issue for the industry.  However the increasing digitization of operations, congestion and inter-connectivity of rail corridors and the overall growth in demand for rail transportation  are also key factors for safe operations; these emerging topics impose new threats and opportunities.

The latest evolution of our rail safety series, SafeRail (incorporating the 6th annual PTC World Congress) is a holistic safety and security showcase, for operators wanting to effect a business wide culture of rail safety and promote a positive public perception of their business.

What to expect in 2016

Rapidly evolving information technology and ITS means there are more tools than ever for assessing and mitigating risk. There are new opportunities to exploit this technology to manage operations, ensure interoperability and reduce costs.

Network developments open up new types of digital risks via the data we collect and analyze from our networks. Furthermore, our workforce must be well trained to reduce the human error factor in our operational systems.

The exciting evolution to our SafeRail summit aims to ensure safety, efficiency and security on your network with sessions including:

  • Ensure cost and time effective deployment.
  • Address issues endemic to transit cyber-security.
  • Define system requirements with technical training.
  • Learn best practice deployment strategies from industry leaders.
  • Interoperability and integrated corridor management

Benchmark against your railroad peers, with 300 senior representatives from Class 1, shortline and commuter railroads.

View 2016 Agenda

SafeRail will bring together over 300 senior level transportation experts from across North America to uncover safety and security best-practice for freight and metro operators to ensure reliability, competitiveness, federal compliance and a positive public perception.
